About Goblin Hill

Handmade. Herbal. A little feral.

Goblin Hill Apothecary grew from a simple idea: the things we use every day can be useful, beautiful, and a little closer to the plants they came from.

What started with herbs growing in the garden, tucked into jars, steeping in oils, and drying from every available surface slowly became something bigger. Today, Goblin Hill Apothecary is a small-batch herbal goods shop rooted in traditional plant use, practical home remedies, and the belief that an apothecary doesn’t have to feel dusty, intimidating, or precious.

It can smell good. It can make you laugh. It can live on the bathroom counter, ride around in your camping bag, sit beside the kitchen sink, and actually get used.

Rooted in Plants

Plants are the heart of Goblin Hill.

Many of the herbs used here are grown, gathered, dried, infused, or blended by hand in North Mississippi. Others are carefully sourced when I can’t grow enough myself. I’m endlessly fascinated by the ways people have worked with ordinary plants for generations: plantain growing underfoot, goldenrod blazing along the roadside, violet leaves hiding in the shade, calendula glowing in a garden bed.

That traditional knowledge is where many Goblin Hill products begin.

Then comes the tinkering.

I formulate, test, adjust, remake, and occasionally mutter at a jar until a product works the way I want it to. The goal is never to make something complicated simply for the sake of sounding impressive. It’s to make something useful.

Apothecary Goods for Real Life

You’ll find herbal salves and balms, teas, soaps, lotions, seasonal goods, and other small-batch concoctions here.

Some are deeply plant-forward. Some are simply excellent everyday things made with ingredients I care about. And some, like a really good candle or gloriously scented soap, are here because life is better when ordinary routines contain a little pleasure.

The bath and body goods may be the gateway into Goblin Hill, but the plants are the roots (pun intended!)

Traditional Knowledge, Modern Common Sense

I love herbal tradition, but I also love evidence.

Goblin Hill is built with respect for historical herbal use without pretending every old remedy was automatically right or that plants can replace modern medicine. When I talk about herbs, I try to be clear about what is traditional use, what research suggests, and where the limits of our knowledge are.

No miracle cures. No wellness wizardry.

Just plants, curiosity, good formulation, and a healthy respect for both old knowledge and new science.

Made Small on Purpose

Goblin Hill Apothecary is a genuinely small business.

Products are made in small batches rather than churned out by the thousands. Herbs change with the seasons. Some things sell out. Some experiments become permanent favorites. Others disappear back into the cauldron and are never spoken of again.

That smallness is part of the point.

It means I can keep learning, keep experimenting, follow the seasons, listen to customers, and make things with considerably more personality than anything rolling off an assembly line.

Around here, useful and beautiful are allowed to coexist.

So are science and folklore.

So are a tidy label and a slightly unruly garden.

Welcome to Goblin Hill.
